Hohensalzburg Castle (Fortress Hohensalzburg) is a castle in the Austrian city of Salzburg. It sits on Festungsberg hill. It has length of 250 meters and a width of 150 meters. It is one of the largest medieval castles in Europe. The Hohensalzburg Fortress was selected as main motif for the Austrian Nonnberg Abbey coin, that was minted in April 5, 2006. This was the first coin of the famous series "Great Abbeys of Austria". It shows the Benedictine convent of Nonnberg Abbey.
