The Vienna Donauturm was opened in April 1964. It was the tallest free-standing structure in Austria. Its hight is 252 metres , and nowdays it is the second tallest structure in Austria, and among the 65 tallest towers in the world. The tower is located near the north bank of the Danube River in the district of Donaustadt, Vienna .
