The Archeological Parkcan be reached conveniently and is located between Vienna ( Austria) and Bratislava ( Slovakia). It includes the townships of Petronell-Carnuntum and Bad Deutsch-Altenburg. The landmark of Carnuntum is the Heidentor (Heathen's Gate), a monument which was built for Emperor Constantius II (354 - 361 AD) and is today considered the most venerable Roman monument in Austria. |
