The new “Porta Bohemica” cruise ship, which accommodates 249 passengers and cruises the 41-kilometre route between Roudnice nad Labem and Usti nad Labem, is now in service for tourists. Six towns and cities situated on the river banks have joined the Elbe River public water-transport project thus far. For this reason, Porta Bohemica presently stops only in Vaňov in Ústí nad Labem, Velké Žernoseky, Píšťany near Marina, Lovosice, Litoměřice and Roudnice nad Labem. Landing stages are also planned for other cities.Porta Bohemica (Gate of Bohemia) is the name of a canyon-like valley of the River Elbe through which the river enters the Czech central mountains (hence, the name of the ship). This stage is 4-kilometres long and starts just beyond Litoměřice. The ship is 33 metres long and is large enough to also transport bicycles. Services offered on board the ship include refreshments in the restaurant. During July and August, the ship operates six times a week. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, it sails from Litoměřice to Ústí nad Labem and back. On Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, it sails from Litoměřice to Roudnice nad Labem and back. In May, June, September and October, the ship only operates from Thursdays to Sundays. Company trips or private events can be organised on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, along with refreshments and live music.
